What is DevOps - is it Culture? Tools? Process? Or “the way we build software”? Or is it the “outcomes” of increased speed, quality, and efficiency? You might be surprised to learn that it’s all of those – and often more. DevOps has been most effective when combined with Agile requirements management and automated testing, and the “sweet spot” is continuous delivery of custom applications – typically with cloud-native technologies like JavaScript, Node, and containerization. But it’s also possible to extend DevOps to other stacks (e.g. Java and .NET) and even to commercial packages and platforms like SAP, SalesForce, Siebel, and AEM. Naturally, this involves quite a few moving technology pieces - not to mention the organizational change – and enterprises that have combined a progressive learning approach with a unified vision for a DevOps transformation have achieved notable results. This session distills what Accenture has learned through numerous successful large-scale client DevOps engagements and guides others starting out on that journey.
